Hello,
I know you folks have a hard job. It’s tough to balance the needed moderation of a forum with the freedom of expression needed to make a forum work. I know rules can be difficult to design, implement and enforce. I know there are grey areas and most community members play in them.
With all that said, there is one area that I simply do not see as grey, and gets abused very often. And that area is misogyny.
While a sadly common part of the vernacular, I don’t believe this helps any discussion and usually causes it to spiral out of control. It’s also massively alienating to female members of the community, as they can see it posted regularly without any consequence. It would be like any other identity grouping (not political) being insulted regularly for the sole reason and the with the sole targeting of being a member of that grouping.
Comments like this one, aimed at a politician but using the most common misogynist attack, IMO should not be allowed to stand and do not help in any way:

Not only is this against the rules of the forum (even attacks on politicians should not be misogynistic) but it is clear that the CM in question knows it and tries to get away with it anyway.
Please do something about this. It’s IMO not a large request to have people held to the lowest possible standard against misogyny.
Thank you for your time.
