Reinforcing stereotypes through deletion

Posted on 2020-04-092020-04-10 by PaladinKOB

Good evening.

had the following comment deleted. Just want to bring to attention how deleting this comment only enforces harmful stereotypes and respectful ask it be reinstated.

a poster asked me where his hip high boots are, and I replied:

I don’t know? Tucked in the closet with your garter belt and fishnets?

this poster replied with an extremely harmful word describing gay men. This comment was obviously deleted through moderation but my question is…

Why was mine? Doesn’t it just reinforcing the other posters gross stereotype of gay men and only further marginalize them? Most people know clothing doesn’t determine sexuality and quite frankly I didn’t know the other persons gender or sexuality, it’s none of my business.

When I think of hip boots I envision garter belt and fishnets… and these articles can be worn by anyone.

thank you for time.
