I’m going to do my best to remain respectful here but I will honestly say I’m getting to my limit after a moderator has flat out called me a fascist, troll, etc… but even more shockingly has gone as far as to openly advocate violence in the discussion to an article about the ongoing issues in Minneapolis.
To get right to the point, in that discussion, TUS stated:
“Sometimes violence is necessary to defend against nazis and murderers. It is what all good patriots should do.”

On its own, I can say I wouldn’t think that violates any rules. However, in the context of the discussion, we were discussing how some are encouraging violence against ICE agents. As such his comment also seems to be encouraging violence.
It doesn’t end there though, and it is really this next comment that forced me to take the matter to the Den. In another comment TUS stated the following:
“Incorrect. If the murderous ICE nazis detained my family member I would free them by any means necessary. The rule of law is dead with Traitor Trump and his private army of killer ICE nazis. It is YOU far right extremists who are defending the violence and murder being perpetrated by this fascist regime. Trump HAS to be removed from office by any means necessary before you far right cultists can even BEGIN the process of deprogramming.”

The alarming part of this comment is “any means necessary” which he said twice. The one about removing Trump in the last sentence was the most concerning. If Trump has to be removed “by any means necessary” that INCLUDES violence and assassination attempts. And that is confirmed by his previous comment I linked where he states sometimes violence is necessary. I thought these were the kind of heated comments we want to avoid on this site? I get TUS is really fired up about this topic. Lots of people are on both sides of the coin. And if this had just been any other commenter, I would have just reported the comments. But considering this coming from a moderator I am very alarmed. I feel like this is something that needs to be discussed. Is this something that is really allowed here on BNR? Can someone just up and decide hey, it’s all of a sudden okay to openly advocate violence against law enforcement and the current administration because you have negative opinions about them?
And finally, far less critical but is calling someone a fascist allowed? I swear I’ve seen comments removed for that kind of insult. And I don’t see how that can be taken as anything but a personal attack.
