Hello Folks,
Obey was busy yesterday, as I see in the Den history, so I do not blame him for being overzealous, especially where the ever-present and ever-contentious issue of pedophilia is concerned. However, he made some deletions which I found to be at the least overmuch, and who’s reasoning was not, IMO, correct.
The first one was this:
Obey deleted this one and said “You cant accuse anyone of being a Pedo without a credible accusation, that is against the rules”
Now, it’s absolutely clear here that I in no way called PP, and furthermore no one else specific, a pedophile. What I did imply is that PP would lie to save a pedophile, something that is becoming increasingly common in far right circles and not something I think violates any posted rules.
The second deletion was something more borderline, and I wouldn’t blame Obey for it triggering Mod mode:
“No, I just don’t consider child rapist apologists to be people.”
To which he replied “You cant accuse anyone here of supporting or approving of child rape”
Now again, I clearly did not accuse PP of approving of or supporting child rape. I didn’t even mention him at all, though you can certainly infer that I was referring to his apologetics. Is the contention here that I cannot call someone an apologist?
Lastly, there is this one:
To which Obey stated: “I’m going to have to ban you if I keep seeing this stuff.”
Now again, I can understand that the article was a heated one and a lot of stuff was being posted. But nothing here was at all in violation of the rules. Trump is an adjudicated rapist, was and very seemingly still is friends with child sex traffickers, and PP supports him. Nowhere did I even remotely imply that Trump himself is a pedophile, nor did I direct any insult to PP except noting that he supports Trump.
Would you please review these and share your thoughts, perhaps also highlighting the reasoning and rules thought to have been broken? I take ban threats seriously.
Thank you.
