I thought civil discourse was desired. I took the time to read the article and comment, to ask a question.
Shaky said Trump’s EOs would be overturned easily, and I asked how and why. A simple question, what is the grounds to overturn them according to the person who stated it.
The reply was ‘Thank you for proving my point.’ That has nothing to do with the discussion, the comment it replied to and it was disrespectful to me and rather insulting. I did state his comment was worthless, as it contributed nothing, it was nonsense and my comment was deleted.
When asked about it, the Moderator Fossil, said ‘thank you for proving my point’ was not insulting or disrespectful or in any way derogatory and that calling it ‘worthless’ was over the line but I could have called him a troll (which some consider insulting).
I responded to Fossil as ‘Thank you for proving my point’ when he provided the link to come here and probably get ignored, and he said I had one chance to move on. Yet, ‘Thank you for proving my point’ is perfectly fine according to Fossil and I did say he could simply stop replying to me.
Instead of stopping, he blocked me from the site. That is fine. But be clear, you need to have the same standards for all, not one for those you agree with and one for those you disagree with.
If people want civil discourse, and that is often difficult, it helps when someone asks a serious question that they are responded to with an answer and not a disrespectful nonsense comment that contributes nothing and as Fossil said… could be declared a troll.
I wanted to address this issue. I was not going to come here as it was not that severe or an emergency, yet Fossil kept disrespecting me and replying and threatening with his ‘you have one more chance’. He could easily have simply stopped responding to me.
Please ensure the same standards are used for all commenters.
