As we have all seen in the past few months, BNR has had many threads concerning the conflict in Gaza. People on both sides of the issue can and are being VERY passionate in their positions. But I have noticed a glaring inconsistency in the Rules and Moderation of these discussions.
It has been made clear to myself and others that it is violation of board rules to tell someone that are a terrorist supporter. This extends into claims that they support the actions of terrorists or even simply support Hamas. The Moderation of this issue has been swift and complete. However, people seem to be free to accuses others of supporting war crimes, supporting the murder of children, and supporting the wholesale killing of innocents. In an encounter I had with a Moderator on this topic, I was told the former is a rules violation, while the latter was not.
In the interest of consistency, if one cannot accuse a CM of being a terrorist supporter, should that same rule be applied to those that accuse CM’s of supporting war crimes and child murder?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
