A shit storm occurred on the thread “Saying racist things not racist, claim racists” with several CM’s and a couple of MODs openly attacking me with multiple instances of name-calling and personal insults. I gave as good as I was getting.
Moderator Darth MJM The WRATH of BNR decided to step in and moderate ONLY MY POSTS, leaving up all other attacks on me despite my multiple flags. He later claimed to nuke several sub-thread.
He singles out THIS post as a personal insult, claiming it was a personal attack and that if I continued with it I would be benched:
“Look, everyone… Ballast is back!
Hi Ballast, hope you are doing OK.
Did you have a nice evening Ballast?
Ballast, I hope your feelings are not still hurt, Ballast.
Ballast, I would really hate to think about all the suffering you went through Ballast about having someone use your actual posting name to reply to you Ballast.
Have a really good night, Ballast!”
Another poster made light of Mark’s threat by saying “Telling someone to have a nice evening is fighting words! 🙂” to which I replied… “Clearly Darth is using his very special mind-reading skills to determine that when I say “Nice Evening”, I mean “Nuke all the Gay Whale straight Back to Allah!“”. This was called MOD bashing and I was benched for three days.
OK, all fine and good.
Now let’s discuss the ACTUAL issue.
I have been told by Mark that calling another poster by their actual posting name is a personal insult.
I called a poster named Ballast, “BallBoy”. That made Ballast very angry even though DannyBoy does not seem to bother DanielSanGeo and JohnnyBoy does not seem to bother JohnBody. So I started calling Ballast “Ball-Ast”. That seem to infuriate him even more to the point he posted so many personal insults to me that he got benched overnight.
He made a Den post whining about it which Mark oversaw. During that post he claimed that “Ball-Ast” was a personal insult that made fun of his posting name, while he made multiple post to me referring to me as “Dr Muffin”. Mark made the decision that my post had ill-intent and was therefore a personal insult worthy of deletion, while Ballast’s name for me was considered a Term of Endearment. I later learned on the thread in question from both Mark and Kpaneth that any and every name I am called by another CM is a Term of Endearment, but any name I call anyone else is a personal insult. Mark specifically called me out and Modeerated me twice for calling Jenny “Fat Jenny”, a name that was not only a part of her current posting name, but a name that she has been called repeatedly today by several other posters.
I believe it would benefit all CM’s on this board if the rule about a person’s posting name was clarified to avoid such blatant cases of over-Moderation as this.
And If Mark’s ruling on this obvious double-standard is going to stand, I request it be put into the rules page as the Hemlock Rule because clearly I am the ONLY poster on the entire board that this rule applies to.
