Mods responding as CMs although blocked

We have told you before that we can not answer a blocked CM from the Mod Panel, so I do not know why you assume that this has anything to do with the Mods at all. You more than likely have a regular CM blocked, or they have you blocked which is why you can not see that comment.

Sully is blocked by me. He has been told he’s blocked by me.

As per this thread, he sees and responds to my posts as a CM but from the  Mod Panel.

Yes I see a “Content Unavailable” Icon from his responses. However, to be equal to other CMS there should be no posts of his attached to my posts on any thread. That is the whole purpose of blocking other CMs. They arent supposed to see what I say, never mind respond.

It is an inequity. Even the Channel Owner knows it exists and admits to that.

So continued incorrect comments from other mods here in the Den that this problem doesn’t even exist is not helpful.

Mods can see and respond to everyones comments from the Mod Panel whether they are blocked or not. This is an inequity to other CMs.

There’s some solutions:

  1. Mods stop acting as CMs altoghether  (not popular with anyone)
  2. Mods dont use the Mod Panel when acting as CMs, (slightly awkward but unachievable. Two Tabs open in your browser)
  3. Leave as Staus quo but at least admit the inequity exists and address it. Comments as Ive received here stating false hoods from Mods simply because they are working on assumptions and not facts. They are also backed with a bit of attitude that even though theyre wrong they condescend.

If you want Mods to be able to act as CM’S equally then thats what they should do, and use their disqus account vs their Mod Panel when speaking  as a CM.

If as your Channel Owner states, this is too difficult (Im nor sure why) and Mods have been trained to do everything from the Mod Panel, then at leat admit the inequity exists and demonstrate that your Mods are aware of it.

The only thing more aggravating to me than a Blocked CM inequiably able to tag a post onto mine is the denial or misunderstanding in this forum by your own Mods that this inequity even exists.

Maybe once they knew they’d respect it.

Its still my view that if Mods want to act equally as CM’s then another CM should be able to switch them off. And that switch off should be respected.
