Over a long period of time Ive truly come to a conclusion about BNR that firstly, I cant shake, and secondly that needs to be discussed IMO.
My perception of Mods, when they apply time outs Bans etc, they appear to be going by just Crisis Management, with little or no direction/Standard as to what is applicable in varying situations.
For instance, last week, I made a post in explaining how my father fought Fascists in World War two. The response from the CM was that not only was my Father a Fascist, but so was I. I responded “in kind”. The Mod told other Mods to delete the posts the CM had made, slapped his wrist and banned me.
The reason that I am presently on a ban is because I supposedly just “insinuated” someone was a Fascist. There’s no doubt that the measures against myself and the other CM were completely inequitable.
I dont believe this is intentional, but I believe it exists. And I can assure you that I am not alone.
When disciplinary measures are not consistently applied, people come up with all sorts of reasons why. Bias is assumed, Problems escalate.
Ive had this perception of BNR for a long time.
- I do not believe you are putting enough emphasis on consistency of applying discipline.
- I also dont think you believe its as important as you should.
- Aggravation for me at BNR does not come form other CM’s, it comes from what I perceive as inconsistencies in Moderation. To prevent apprehension of bias (which in my case doesnt exist). I think this is more important than you are giving it credit for.
I mean this constructively.
As for my present Ban though the weekend and my coming here. Well coming here is done.
Do what you will with my Ban.
