So I wondered – somewhat tongue in-cheek- if Bubba Wallace would now grow a great big afro the way Colin Kaepernick did when he evolved from nothing-special athlete to Black icon. He’s a much-photographed fellow so you can see pictures of him from his rookie year throughout his first four years in the NFL. All during this time, Kaepernick had a neat, short haircut. But then he got “woke” and all of a sudden he went from a trim to a full-blown, Hair-The-Original-Soundtrack maximum afro.
Please explain to me how noticing this remarkable transformation from high-and-tight to big, poofy afro which exactly coincides with his ascension to Hero is “racist”. Is it truly beyond the pale to wonder whether Kaepernick’s hairstyle choices had something to do with him trying to shed the image of biracial guy raised by lily-white parents to become an icon for Black Americans? I mean, I ‘m not making stuff up…you can look up pictures of him and verify that, yep, when he decided to kneel, his hairdo underwent a dramatic change.
Is it *really* racist to notice this and wonder if Bubba Wallace might try something similar?
I say it isn’t, that wondering if Bubba would try to burnish his “street cred” in the Black community by growing HIS hair out into a cartoonish afro like Kaepernick is noticing and commenting, not spewing racism as I was accused of.
I guess pointing out that a favored tactic of leftists to shut down dissenting views is to shriek “Racist!” was somehow *racist*, too? It’s exactly what the moderator did!
