COVID-19 articles question

Posted on 2020-03-302020-03-30 by danielsangeo

I just want to ask a quick question.

I know Breaking News is reliant on articles posted by people to continue operating and I fully understand this concept, however…

In light of what is happening in the world today with COVID-19, there is a tendency to post ill-advised and even dangerous rumor and speculation on the virus, including potential hawking of snake-oil, as “Breaking News”.

For example:

Recently the following article was posted: Stop the COVID-19 Insanity Now. The article was written by someone who has no medical expertise whatsoever.  This dangerous speculation on the virus and even using it as an opportunity for partisan attacks, in my opinion, shouldn’t this be unwelcome here on Breaking News?

Lurkers or passersby might mistake such speculation and say, “Oh, it must be fine to go out then.” and any argument to the contrary must be a “left-wing ploy”.  I believe that such articles should be closed with the aforementioned reasoning.

But I’m just a CM, cooped up in my home because I’m following the advice of medical experts. Perhaps I’m wrong.  Thank you for reading!
