I do disagree with the conclusion that the post was racist. In the last comment it was mentioned “assert a war between the East and the West”. This image does nothing of the kind.
I get that the mods are the arbitor of what falls within the guidelines and what does not. I have never liked the manner in which some try to wield their tools as some sort of weapon in a braggardly manner. Starting comments with MOD VOICE is unnecessary. The only intent that I can tell in doing so is to suggest that you are yelling at me or talking to me sternly. In real life, people without cause of position that do that are often disappointed in the results.
I have spent my time moderating a group. At times we’ve had some pretty immature characters around. I like to think that I am pretty even handed and friendly… until I am not. And I always give fair warning prior to switching to unfriendly.
But back to the post itself. Racist is commonly used to describe bigotry in modern communication. Noting a difference between two cultures is not bigoted. When noting stereotypes as though they are some form of absolute facts is certainly problematic. Many women in Muslim countries do wear hijabs. Many feel more comfortable doing so than not. In keeping with the tenor of the article and with my own experience on how women make romantic choices, women in our society do often seem to run around with blinders on.
I don’t really care that the posts were deleted. It is the prerogative of the moderators. In acknowledging that I don’t have to agree with the decision. If that causes any of the mods to feel that they have to become stern or strict, that really isn’t my issue is it? I do think perhaps respecting the views of others does include accepting disagreement without responding with disrespect.
I don’t have anything else to add.

It is? Many women in the Middle East wear hijabs. Many in the west seem to be blind. There was certainly no racist intent & I don’t agree that it was racist.
