I have served as a mod on a cross-partisan political board in years past, and in general, the partisan mods that are needed to balance the moderation on such boards — need to mostly be moderate partisans. Extremists — and those who abandon the concept of truth — are generally not good candidates for mod.
A poster who thinks the passage of civil rights legislation in the 1950-60s was a catastrophe for the country, and decries the “leftists” who advocated the concept of special protection for a persecuted minority — IE the KKK position __ is about as extreme as one can get in US politics, and I suggest might not be the best mod material.
