Hi.
I just want to clarify the rules.
When y’all say, “No generalizing,” you’re talking about groups, right, like, not saying stuff like, “Liberals want to destroy America.” But you don’t mean saying stuff like, “No one wants to destroy America,” is generalizing & not allowed, right?
I just want to get it straight because I see a whooooole lot of both. I rarely post either, but the one time I recently said something like, “No one is talking about thus&such,” it was removed. Now how are we supposed to carry on a conversation if we are told that that kind of generalizing is forbidden when it’s just the way regular folks converse? Plus, I see loads of other folks post that very phrase & not have it removed. On BN, as y’all surely well know, we call one another out & prove one another wrong/right all the time with those kinds of phrases. We don’t need to be censored by y’all for those things cuz we do it ourselves. The rules of engagement say we aren’t supposed to generalize about specific groups, which phrases like that aren’t.
Sorry for being wordy.
I’m not one to bother y’all about whingey stuff. But I think it’d be good to know what is/isn’t allowed & exactly what your Rules of Engagement mean & don’t mean, frankly. Either I’m confused or some of your moderators are. This issue just stuck right in my craw & has festered for days, mostly because it’s confusing.
Thanks, Betsy
